The Portrait Session

Whether we’re looking at working with dogs, horses or humans, the process of the portrait session is almost identical. Learn about the steps involved here, along with the investment options available too.

    Step 1

    Register your interest. It seems simple and it is – simply select a date or outline a deadline, let Jessica know a little about the subject and share your general location. From here, we’ll then…

    Step 2

    At this point, Jessica will complete a complimentary consultation with you to gather your wishes into a single, or a few, specific concepts. We’ll discuss locations and timings, as well as dates and end goals here before moving on to…

    Step 3

    Creation. At this point, the creation commences and this could be one single portrait session with you or your preferred subject, or it could be an entire process working through months of individual photo shoots, costuming, styling and more, to result in all of the elements needed to finish the concept identified in the consultation.

    Within creation is also the retouching and post production, where many days are spent carefully working on every inch of the piece to create something truly iconic. At the end of the creation, we’ll then move into…

    Step 4

    The Reveal. Here, we reconvene either in person or virtually, to reveal the pieces created within Step 3. Often this is the first time you will have seen the elements captured in Step 3 in a finished format.

    Step 5

    Here the artwork is passed to our printing partners in the North East or Italy, where they hand print, hand varnish, hand make and hand frame the artwork to our exacting standards on your request. They then package the piece and deliver it with great care to us, here in Yorkshire.

    Once we have checked the piece, we then deliver it to your door.

    The Showcase

    The Showcase is solid oak wood and is handmade in Italy at the worlds best photographic printers. It holds either 10 or 20 matted prints. The sliding acrylic lid protects the pictures and transforms the box into a standing frame to be displayed in your home. The prints within are high definition by nature on Deep Matte Touch Paper, a silky paper that guarantees the perfect colour reproduction.

    The Forest Box

    Because it is the 21st Century, we believe that offering digital versions of artwork is not just beneficial, it is expected. With the Forest Box, you have the ability to preserve your files on a traditional USB drive, and you can print these as you wish forever more.

    The Matted Print

    Fine Art prints are produced using only the very latest professional Giclee 12 colour printers with UV resistant, archival inks. The paper itself is a 100% cotton Fine Art rag paper with an enhanced whiter 310gsm base. This acid-free, smooth matt paper upholds the appearance of high-key detail and colours to an exceptional standard.

    The Acrylic

    The open frame surrounds the image with a narrow gap between the solid wood frame and image creating the impression that it is levitating. The finishing involved gives us creative freedom to produce a stunning piece of gallery standard wall art. High-impact HD Acrylic is mounted onto archival board for timeless displays.

I was very nervous to see the final photos and to see if Jessica had captured what I wanted and I quickly realised there was no need to be nervous. Coupled with a brew, we sat down and watched the slideshow, and instantly it brought tears to my eyes.
